Theme = Teenagers and Self-esteem This was the first IPP to be hosted by CISV Great Britain and it was a real success. We worked together with a 3 local youth groups to provide workshops for a group of teenagers in an area of Hull called The Quadrant. The acitivites were planned and run by 18 CISV participants from 8 different countries. They also helped the teenagers renovate the playground at a local primary school and plan a fun day for the whole community. Read all about it in the December '04 edition of CISV News or follow the link in the IPP Resources area below. Many thanks to everyone who made this project a success, particularly Lindsay Knott, and our donors (Four Acre Trust, Hull City Council Wyke and Northern Area Committees, Hull & East Riding Charitable Trust, Teenage Pregnancy LIG Funding).

IPP General Information | |
|
What is an IPP? "International People's Project is an activity based on one specific theme for people aged 19 and above with at least four delegations depending greatly on the nature of the project. It must be at least 14 days long and should not be longer than 23 days. It consists of a practical part, in which the participants work on a certain project in cooperation with a partner institution. To complement the educational content of this practical part each delegation gathers information on how the chosen theme is dealt with in its own country. They prepare activities before the IPP and carry them out during the project as a way of demonstrating this information. There may also be seminars and activities organised by the partner institution and/ or other experts. The rest of the group then has an opportunity to exchange opinions on this theme." What is the goal of IPP? "Give participants the opportunity to become aware of challenges to society and - in a real life setting - experience different ways of dealing with them." For more general information about IPP then please see the "Quick Reference Table", "IPP Goal and Objectives" and "IPP History" (available from the IPP Resources area below). You can find more information about all aspects of IPP including details of past and future projects, at the IPP website: www.cisv.org/ipp
